# STAINLESSFUTURON

Heat treating
for best results, we recommend to use thermal processing professionals (using protective atmosphere) like Bodycote etc.
- hold blade for 10-15 min. at 1050°C  / 1920°F;  oil quenching
- tempering 2 cycles,  30 minutes at 150-180°C  / 305-355 °F each
- finall hardness is 59-60 HRc

Etching
- use Ferric chloride (FeCl3) and distilled water in 1:1 ratio
- hold for 15 minutes at room temperature
- if that's not enough, use water to remove sediments and repeat 

# HARDCOREFUTURON

Heat treating - ELMAX core
for best results, we highly recommend to use thermal processing professionals (using protective atmosphere) like Bodycote etc.
- hold blade for 30 min. at 1080°C  / 1980°F;  oil quenching
- tempering 2 cycles,  2 hours at 200°C  / 390 °F each
- finall hardness is 60 HRc

Etching
- use Ferric chloride (FeCl3) and distilled water in 1:1 ratio
- hold for 15 minutes at room temperature
- if that's not enough, use water to remove sediments and repeat 
Elmax core will go dark nicelly.

#FUTURON / #BLACKFUTURON

Colouring
- use propane gas torch and heat polished or satin-finished surface
- colors will show in order of titanium anodizing spectral colors.
- Zirconium turns black (or oil-black) and keeps like that even when other colors are buffed-out
- each titanium grade shows different colour on specific temperature, that makes this multi-color effect
- you can combine heat-oxidation with anodic-oxidation or etching
- in you're not so experienced, keep the scrap from cutting and run various test with colors etc. :)
